The UK team behind the AndyPad budget Android tablet has announced that there will be a second version of the low-cost slate, targeted at enthusiasts and early-adopters. While the “entry level” of £129 AndyPad features a 7″ resistive touchscreen, the AndyPad Pro will arrive with the more advanced capacitive touch technology. This version will be aimed at adults / tech enthusiasts as opposed to the lower end AndyPad which is aimed at kids and young adults. TalkAndroid received and email from Andy Pad headquarters . The original AndyPad will have 512MB of RAM, it’s been concerned, after negative feedback over the original plans to use just 256MB. For the AndyPads also come with 512MB of app memory.

Sony Vaio Z 13-inch shows up in Europe

Sony has just announced the launch of a new 13-inch Sony Vaio laptop, the Sony Vaio Z. The 13.3-inch laptop is slim and light, under 17mm thick, but still manages to pack in a full-voltage Intel Core i7 processor (paired with a SSD hard drive). Onboard it features only Intel’s HD Graphics 3000 solution but the VAIO Z beats other ultralights with its Power Media Dock, which contributes the power of an AMD Radeon 6650M GPU with 1GB of dedicated memory connected via Light Peak when more polygons have to be pushed. The Power Media Dock is described by Sony as a “monolithic expansion module” sports one USB 3.0 hookup plus additional USB, VGA and HDMI ports along with a DVD or Blu-ray drive.

Acer jut announced that its Chromebook, named AC700, will go on sales in US this month for $349.99. The new model will sport an 11.6-inch HD Widescreen CineCrystal LED-backlit LCD screen and come with an Intel Atom N570 dual-core processor. It will have 2GB of DDR3 memory and a 16GB SSD on the storage front. It offers Wi-Fi, optional 3G, a 10-second boot time, “always-on” footprint and easily access to Gmail, Google Docs and Calendar, and a host of other Google apps.

Italian company Ekoore has just announced three new tablets the Perl, Python and Pascal. Two of the tablets are designed to run Ubuntu Linux or Windows 7, while the third is a budget Android tablet with a rather familiar looking design.
The Ekoore Perl offersa 11.6 inch display with a 1366 x 768 pixel resolution, HDMI output and stereo speakers. Its case is 0.55 inches thick and the model can run Linux or Windows 7, while its CPU is a total mystery.

Fujitsu’s Lifebook TH40/D hybrid tablet with slide out keyboard has been delayed over in Japan. The new tablet has been indefinitely postponed due to unspecified developmental delays. Fujitsu first showed the Lifebook TH40/D back in mid-May, with the touchscreen tablet having a 10.1-inch display and a full QWERTY keyboard with a built-in optical trackpad. The Fujitsu Lifebook TH40/D is one of the more interesting Windows 7 tablets announced this year. It features a 1.5 GHz Intel Atom Z670 Oak Trail processor, 120GB hard drive, and 1GB of RAM.

Photorumors.com has posted what appears to be a good first look at the much anticipated Olympus E-P3.This camera seems to be a mix between two kinda of the E series cameras, this is a mix between the E-P2 and the E-PL2. Samsung has officially confirmed the UK release date for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet on August 4th. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 will be available in many UK shops with Wi-Fi only and 3G options. Originally announced and demoed at Mobile World Congress 2011, Samsung’s Android 3.1 Honeycomb-powered tablet has undergone a few changes since it was last seen. The Galaxy Tab 10.1 is more ‘iPad-shaped’ that the 7-inch Galaxy Tab and features a 1280×800 WXGA display capable of playing back 1080p Full HD movies. The tablet itself is no different to the US models – it’ll be available in white and “black” (silver) in 16 and 32GB varieties.
