Dell has just officially taken the wraps off its first ultrabook, the Dell XPS 13. The XPS 13, which will be priced at $999, is thin – very thin, varying between 0.24 and 0.71 inches and it gets a machined aluminum construction for durability. Dell is calling the XPS 13 the “most compact ultrabook” among 13-inch models because Dell used a bezel-free screen lid to deliver a 13-inch laptop in the same footprint of a 12-inch laptop. The XPS 13 will be running low voltage Intel Core i5 and i7 Sandy Bridge processors at launch complete with Intel HD 3000 integrated graphics paired with 4GB of memory and either 128GB or 256GB SSDs and offering up to 8hrs battery life.

Lenovo today announced its IdeaPad YOGA notebook. Lenovo‘s new IdeaPad YOGA is being marketed as a four-in-one device. The computer has a 13.3 inch multitouch display and an unusual hinge that lets you not only use the YOGA as a notebook or a tablet, but which also lets you prop up the computer using the keyboard like a kick-stand. The edge-to-edge glass, 1600 x 900-resolution panel can support up to ten points of input, and was very responsive to swipes from the sides. The IdeaPad YOGA will come with several configuration options including Core i3, i5 and i7 processors, and will run on the Windows 8 operating system. Moreover. the slate will feature 8GB of RAM to 256GB, USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports, full SD card slot and full HDMI port and a battery that boasts 8 hours of usage time

Lenovo has just announced a brand new tablet – the Idea Tab S2. The S2 has keyboard dock which is similar to the one that belongs to Transformer Prime. Along with that keyboard dock, the IdeaTab S2 10 can run for a whopping 20hrs, or so Lenovo reckons. The 10-inch tablet is about one-third of an inch thick and weighs 1.1 pounds, making it one of the lightest 10-inch slates on the market. The IdeaTab S2 is packing a 10.1-inch 1280×800 IPS screen, 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm processor, and Lenovo’s own Mondrian UI. Other features include a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash, 1.3-megapixel front-facing shooter, 1GB RAM, microSD card slot and a micro-HDMI port. Expect it to come in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB flavors. The docking station in particular will supposedly add additional connectivity options such as USB 2.0, card reader and extra hours of battery life.

In addition to its consumer-targeted IdeaPad U300s, Lenovo’s announcing its plans for a more business-oriented ultrabook today — the 14-inch ThinkPad T430u. Following the customary trend for all Lenovo ThinkPads, the T430u features the same soft-touch black matte design, but with an aluminum construction. The laptop has a 14 inch display, supports processors up to an Intel Core i7 chip, and can handle up to 1TB of storage with a hard drive or solid state disk. On the storage front, users will be able to choose from various hard drives and SSDs, Lenovo saying that the ultra-thin laptop will also be available in configurations offering 1TB of capacity. Further, it has a fingerprint reader and comes with VPro, Intel’s hardware based management and security system.

The keyboard is full-size and in the chiclet style, but Lenovo’s laptop keyboards are renowned for their comfortably sculpted keys. The laptop measures just 0.8 inches thick, weighs less than 4 pounds and gets up to 6 hours of battery life. It has the Lenovo TrackPoint system, for one thing. Lenovo ThinkPad T430u starts at $849 and will be available from Q3 2012.

LG has just introduced two new ultrabooks that will be shown of at CES 2012 next week: the Lenovo Z330 and the Lenovo Z430. Back in December these devices has been discussed, but now the company’s getting official with the parts within. The Z330 which comes with a 13.3 inch HD display, and according to LG it features a chassis which is the same size as a 12 inch notebook, and is just 14.7mm thick, and also light weighing in at 1.21kg. The Z330 has a choice of Intel Core i3, i5 or i7 processors, 4GB of DDR3 memory and HD 3000 graphics, along with either a 120GB or 256GB SSD, 10/100 ethernet, WiFi b/g/n and Bluetooth 3.0+HS.

In any event, according to a leaked promotional image picked up by Notebook Italia, it looks like Asus has a 7 inch tablet up its sleeves.The site claims that it will be strutting its stuff at CES in Las Vegas next week. The estimated price of this smaller tablet is expected to be $299. This looks like a different tablet than the 7-inch Asus MeMO, which was originally announced at CES 2011. The MeMo will include a 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor, 16GB and 32GB models and a 1280 x 800 pixel resolution display.

Samsung has just introduced the DV300F Wi-Fi compatible compact camera. Like the rest of the DualView line, the DV300F sports a front-facing, 1.5-inch LCD screen.The new DV300F also features Wi-Fi connectivity. It enables users to directly put taken photos online on Facebook and Picasa sites, as well as Samsung’s AllShare Play and Microsoft SkyDrive cloud services, share videos via Youtube. The camera itself offers 16-megapixel resolution, 5x optical zoom, and a 25mm wide-angle lens. Beyond the dual LCD screens, the DV300F also includes some photo templates and on-board image manipulation functions. A week ago, LG Display had announced that it had successfully developed a 55″ OLED HDTV. Today, Tim Alessi from LG USA’s Home Electronic division has revealed that this would “likely” become a real product, in Q4 2012. The 55-inch is just 4mm thick with a narrow bezel and weight of 7.5kg. LG claims its image processing features combined with the WOLED panel produce “the most natural colors of any TV set” and at a “much lower price point” than OLED panels of this size would traditionally command, and its Color Refiner helps ensures consistent color across a wider viewing angle.  Unfortunately,LG’s press release doesn’t mention production plans or pricing
