Dell has just officially taken the wraps off its first ultrabook, the Dell XPS 13. The XPS 13, which will be priced at $999, is thin – very thin, varying between 0.24 and 0.71 inches and it gets a machined aluminum construction for durability. Dell is calling the XPS 13 the “most compact ultrabook” among 13-inch models because Dell used a bezel-free screen lid to deliver a 13-inch laptop in the same footprint of a 12-inch laptop. The XPS 13 will be running low voltage Intel Core i5 and i7 Sandy Bridge processors at launch complete with Intel HD 3000 integrated graphics paired with 4GB of memory and either 128GB or 256GB SSDs and offering up to 8hrs battery life.
