Sony pulls out another underwater camera from its bag, the TX10. The new Sony Cyber-shot DSC-TX10 is a 16.2-megapixel rugged digital camera.It is the world’s first compact digital still cameras tinclude 3D Still Image mode for taking 3D images using only one lens and imager. The DSC-TX10 is water-proof in up to 5m of water, shock-proof, dust-proof, freeze-proof and features a 3-inch touch screen.
The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-TX10 digital camera is based around a 1/2.3″-type, 16.2 effective megapixel, backside-illuminated Sony Exmor R CMOS image sensor with RGB color filter array, coupled to a Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar-branded 4x optical zoom lens. The Sony TX10 digital camera ships in the US market from March 2011, priced at around US$330. Five body colors will be available — silver, black, green, blue, and pink.

Research In Motion (RIM) and Sprint has just announced their plan to launch a new BlackBerry® PlayBook™ tablet model featuring connectivity to the blazingly fast Sprint 4G network. No word on if it will also include 3G network capability. Aside from the integrated 4G radio, the device looks to be the same as the previously announced RIM tablet: 1 GHz dual-core processor, 1024 x 600 capacitive touchscreen, multitasking QNX operating system, 1 GB of memory and two cameras.

Toshiba has announced they will be outfitting one of their entry-level Satellite laptops. The 15.6-inch laptop uses an AMD E240 CPU, part of the new AMD Fusion line of processors, helping keep the cost down. The Toshiba Satellite C655D will be priced at under $400 when it goes on sale later in 2011. It has large frame which gives it typical headroom that allows for up to 4GB of RAM and a 320GB hard drive

Westinghouse Digital is gearing up for its showing at CES 2011 with a preview of its HDTV line-up, including the flagship 46-inch LD-4655 LCD panel. The 46-inch LD-4655 LCD TV has 1080p resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Westinghouse said the LD-4655 uses LED backlighting technology to keep electricity consumption down to 80 watts. The LD-4655 uses a 46-inch panel in a super thin form factor measuring 1.7 inches for the screen and just over 2 inches for its high-gloss black bezel, weighing 38 pounds total.

Vizio has a fresh range of Theater 3D HDTVs running the gamut of 22- to 71-inches.The company claims they will be up to twice as bright and have significantly less cross-talk than current active shutter 3D TVs—thanks in part to passive, lightweight Theater 3D glasses. All of them get access to Vizio’s Internet Apps platform, and nearly all of them have SRS Studio Sound technology as well as an IR or Bluetooth remote control. Other specs that pop up on various models include Smart Dimming, Full Array TruLED backlighting and Google TV support. All have WiFi b/g/n built-in, – complete with a QWERTY keyboard – is standard on many units.
