Additionaaly it packs a 2.20GHz Intel Core i7-2675QM quad-core processor chip, an 8 gb Ram memory, a 256GB SSD, a Blu-ray drive and also run using Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit/64-bit (SP1) Operating system. The Wortmann Terra Pad 1080 has an LED-backlit (1024 x 600) multi-touch display, 2GB of RAM, GMA 600 integrated graphics, a 32GB SSD, a microSD card reader, a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 3.0, a SIM card slot and a 52Whr battery. Amazon officially unveils its first foray into the tablet world with the 7-inch Amazon Kindle Fire.The Kindle Fire is Amazon’s prize fighter in the battle for tablet dominance. At 11.4mm the Fire is thicker than other slates, and it is priced at just $199, 60% lower than the iPad, and much lower than any Android tablet. The Fire itself is rather characterless and dull. It looks a lot like the 7-inch BlackBerry PlayBook and features just enough tech to pass as acceptable. It doesn’t have a camera, or 3G connectivity, presumably stripped off to bring down the costs. It will come integrated with Amazon apps like the Amazon Appstore, Kindle Store, Amazon Prime, and Amazon MP3. It will also feature Amazon Cloud Drive support and will offer on-demand video streaming.

Asus recently revealed their new tablet with Android Honeycomb Operating System, namely the ASUS Tough ETBW11AA tablet. As the “Tough” name suggests, this new tablet has a few semi-rugged features including a case that’s both water and dust-resistant. The tablet comes with IPX4 waterproofing and IP5X dust resistance certificates according to which the tablet can survive water jets for 3 minutes and 76cm drops onto concrete. It will feature a 7” 1280×800 display with a 1GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core processor under the hood and WiMAX connectivity. There will be 16 GB of on board storage, a microSD slot, a 5MP rear-facing camera, GPS, WiFi b/g/n, and Bluetooth. Although a 7,400mAh battery is included, battery life has yet to be confirmed.

Toshiba has just announced their new Android Honeycomb tablet offering, the Thrive 7″, the second Android Honeycomb tablet to come from Toshiba. Weighing in at .88lbs, the Thrive 7″ is less than half an inch thick, at .47in. and it is smaller than its predecessor, the Thrive 10″ Tablet. The slate also has the same Easy Grip textured rubber back panel as the original model. The Thrive 7” will feature an LED backlit display with 1280×800 resolution, a 5MP rear camera, a 2MP front-facing camera, and a dual-core Tegra 2 processor which should give it more than enough horsepower for surfing the web, watching movies or playing 3D games. It also features a microSD, microHDMI, and miniUSB ports, Wi-Fi , Bluetooth connectivity runs Android Honeycomb 3.2. The device will come in 16 GB and 32 GB models and it will also have GPS and Bluetooth.
