Pentax creates robot version of K-r DSLR

Pentax has just launched a special edition of its K-r DSLR camera, with a bright, multi-colored body and a robotic head. The so-called “K-r Kore Janai Robo Model” was designed by Tokyo-based creative agency ZariganiWorks. Technically, the “K-r Kore Janai Robo Model” is the same as the regular one, just in different colors and with a robot head mounted on the flash hot shoe. Only 100 are being made and reservations start on December 24, with the cameras shipping in January.

Pentax has a history of colorful experimentation, from the “world’s reddest DSLR” to the rainbow-colored K-x which “requires sunglasses to use”. But with this Korejanairobomoderu, or Korejanai robot edition, Pentax has reached a new high. You’ll also get a matching special edition 35mm ƒ/2.4 prime lens to complete the horrifying awesome look. The camera will be sold at a price of ¥99,800 (~$1,190).
