In addition to its consumer-targeted IdeaPad U300s, Lenovo’s announcing its plans for a more business-oriented ultrabook today — the 14-inch ThinkPad T430u. Following the customary trend for all Lenovo ThinkPads, the T430u features the same soft-touch black matte design, but with an aluminum construction. The laptop has a 14 inch display, supports processors up to an Intel Core i7 chip, and can handle up to 1TB of storage with a hard drive or solid state disk. On the storage front, users will be able to choose from various hard drives and SSDs, Lenovo saying that the ultra-thin laptop will also be available in configurations offering 1TB of capacity. Further, it has a fingerprint reader and comes with VPro, Intel’s hardware based management and security system.

The keyboard is full-size and in the chiclet style, but Lenovo’s laptop keyboards are renowned for their comfortably sculpted keys. The laptop measures just 0.8 inches thick, weighs less than 4 pounds and gets up to 6 hours of battery life. It has the Lenovo TrackPoint system, for one thing. Lenovo ThinkPad T430u starts at $849 and will be available from Q3 2012.

AT&T has announced that the Acer Iconia Tab A501 will be available on September 18th. AT&T announced back in March that the Iconia Tab A501 would be coming to its network this summer. When the tablet was first unveiled many assumed it would be a “4G” device, but AT&T confirmed this means HSPA+, not LTE in this case. You can pick up the 16GB model for $480 outright, or if you prefer to get a discount, then be prepared to fork out $330 to go along with a 2-year contract. The Acer Iconia sports a nVidia Tegra 2 processor running at 1GHz, as well as 1GB of memory RAM and 16GB of internal storage capacity. At IFA, Sony has unveiled the latest high-end home cinema 3D model, the VPL-VW95ES. The Sony VPL-VW95ES 3D projector, a high-end device intended for home cinema enthusiasts also interested in 3D support. Successor to the VPL-VW90ES, which was announced last September, and was Sony’s first 3D home cinema projector, the VPL-VW95ES, according to Sony’s Tak Nakane, “Offers superb picture quality with high dynamic contrast ratio of 150,000:1, and a more real cinematic experience. More details are surfacing on Sony’s first Android tablets now. Originally announced under the codename of the Sony S1, Engadget has got the scoop on the slate that will be released as the Sony Tablet S.The Sony Tablet S is said to bring its 9.4-inch (1280×768) screen to market sometime in mid-September. At launch, the Tablet S will be shipping with Android 3.1, but will be upgraded to Ice Cream Sandwich when it becomes available later this fall. Some other things to note about the device are a 5-megapixel shooter and 3-megapixel front-facing camera. The price of the Tablet S is rumored to be $599, but that’s not confirmed yet.
