Sony Walkman Z PMP Announced

Today, Sony Ericsson has announced a new range of Walkman Z series of personal media players (PMP). Sony wants the Walkman brand to make a comeback and will aim to make that happen with Android at the helm. This player will run Android 2.3 Gingerbread and will feature a 4.3-inch WVGA display, 1GHz Tegra 2 CPU, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth, and FM radio. Storage options span 16GB (NW-Z1050), 32GB (NW-Z1060) and 64GB. Sony promises 20 hours of music and 5 hours of video on the Walkman Z. Being a Tegra device, you’ll also get 1080p playback, either through the included micro-HDMI port or over the air using DLNA. Pricing remains “open” apparently, bυt Sony ԁοеѕ commit tο availability іn Japan frοm December 10th.

Skytex Technology, Inc. has just announced the upcoming release of the Primer Pocket, a wifi media tablet with Android™. With its 4.3-inch multi-touch display, the Primer Pocket is pretty much the same size as many Android smartphones. But while other media players don’t come with phone-like functionalities, you can use the Primer Pocket for some VoIP calling. It has 4GB Flash, a microSD card slot, and a g-sensor. The screen is multi-touch, but it’s also low-res (480×272). Users will be able to enjoy their favorite music and video files, as well as browse the web, play games and stay connected with friends and family over wifi.

Since its launch in 2007, the Zoom H2 Handy recorder with its ability to record high quality digital audio has become popular for everything. Today, Zoom has just unveiled their latest foray into the portable recording market, the Zoom H2n Handy Recorder. It features their latest microphone technology with five mic capsules on-board. There’s mid-side stereo, 90-degrees X/Y stereo, 2-channel, and 4-channel surround sound. Zoom has incorporated an interesting feature that allows you to switch between different recording modes with the on-board mic. For journalists, you can refine the respondents and other reporters block / lot of noise during the concerts, fans can be adapted to record audio from only the singer target. The Zoom H2n also packs a 1.8″ LCD display for monitoring your recordings.

It can record in WAV format up to 24-bit/96kHz or in MP3 up to 320kbps. Zoom claims over 20 hours of continuous operation on two standard AA alkaline batteries, while a new data recovery function will automatically restore any recorded data if the batteries run out while recording. It includes a built-in reference speaker, 1/8-inch mic/line input and headphones/line output stereo phone jacks, and even offers a high-speed USB2 card reader function. Iriver P8 Media player weighs around 227g and also supports SDHC card slot

iRiver has come back to the large media player field with the arrival of the P8 in Russia. P8 is available in two models,one with 8GB storage and the other with 16GB storage. According to the official hardware specifications available on Iriver’s product page, the P8 portable media player sports a five inch touchscreen which is capable of a native resolution of 800 x 480 and an HDMI out with 1080p video playback. This player can last for nine hours non-stop videos and forty hours for music on a single charge.

Iriver P8 Media player weighs around 227g and also supports SDHC card slot. The various formats supported by Iriver P8 Media player are JPG, BMP, PNG, GIF, TXT,MP3, WMA, OGG, APE, FLAC, WAV, AVI, XviD, WMV, MKV etc. P8 PMP also comes with a built-in voice recorder. The Russian site doesn’t mention pricing.

Next Generation iPod Nano May Feature 1.3 MP Camera With Clipless Body

Apple.pro has posted photo of what they claim is the next generation iPod nano. The website, often a reliable source of Apple rumors and product leaks, posted a similar picture of the iPod nano’s case back in early April. The photo shows a camera at the top corner of the device’s back casing. According to the source leaking this information, the camera is a low-resolution 1.3 megapixel sensor. Crediting a source named “Ray” from California, the site suggests that the next iPod nano will not include a clip as the current model does. Placing a clip on the back of the device would cover the camera lens on the supposed device.

The photo seems to confirm previous speculation that, in order to make room for the camera, Apple would have to ditch the clip entirely. The larger fifth-generation iPod nano, released in 2009, did have a camera, along with the classic-style iPod click wheel. But the camera was ditched in the 2010 model, allowing Apple to create an even smaller device driven by a multi-touch display. It is predicted that If the seventh-generation device is to be confirmed, it will most likely happen around September, as Apple generally holds iPod events during the fall period.

Samsung Galaxy Players Finally Headed for US

The 4-inch Galaxy Player 4 and the 5-inch Galaxy Player 5 should be for sale in the US this spring. Samsung is already showing the devices off in New York in preparation. Powered by Android 2.2 Froyo, Galaxy Player comes in 4” and 5” screen sizes and is very much like Galaxy S without 3G / GSM. This is Samsung’s way of making competition a little more fierce against Apple’s iPod Touch, as this is essentially just that, running Android 2.2 out of the box, and upgradeable to Gingerbread soon after.

That Galaxy Players will weigh 5 and 7 ounces respectively. Each will pack b/g/n WiFi and front/rear cameras, though only the larger model will have a rear flash. Each will support Qik video conferencing, Skype, and Flash 10.1. Samsung Education-oriented PMP, The Galaxy Player 70

South Korea will receive another of the Galaxy series from Samsung, the Galaxy Player 70. The Galaxy Player 70 is designed based on Education Ready system and has an identical specs with the regular Galaxy Player. The player also has a built-in selection of dictionaries, Samsung Smart Edu App with access to six training classes.

The device comes pack with a 5-inch and is available in 16GB or 32GB model and comes with WiFi, GPS and a 5MP camera as well as a DMB not to mention an HDMI out and will run Google Android 2.2 OS. The Player will be sold in its 16GB version at around 499,000 WON and 599,000 WON in its 32GB Version.

Panasonic DMP-B200 Portable Blu-ray Player and DVD-LS92 Portable DVD Player

Panasonic announced its two new portable disc players, the DMP-B200 Blu-ray player and the DVD-LS92 DVD player. They are built to offer the decisive high definition know-how for those itinerant, with serve as an additional Blu-ray Disc or DVD player for use with some TV.
This portable Blu-ray player comes jam packed with an 8.9-inch, -Si TFT panel with a 1024×600 resolution, an HDMI out and a pair of 500mW speakers. Its battery provides enough juice for up to 4-hour of operation time. The DMP-B200 also supports BD-R and BD-RE drive (single or dual layer) as well as video (MPEG-2, AVCHD, ISDB-T Mobile Video and H.264 Mobile Video) stored on an SDXC cards.The DMP-B200 has been scheduled out this mid-March in Japan but Panasonic not yet give the detail price of the player.
