New Chumby Model Spotted

A new model of Chumby, the connected-widget desktop companion was spotted by Ryan Block, founder of gdgt. The original Chumby was soft, cuddly, and cute. Chumby One loses the soft beanbag shell, and replaces it with a hard acrylic one. The new One model is made out of cold, lifeless plastic and will look right at home next to clock radios and cordless phones at Walmart

The new Chumby will have access to internet radio, fm radio, widgets, 320×240 resolution screen, and bumped up from 350MHz to 454MHz Mhz Processor. Otherwise, specs seem to be about the same — and at a rumored $100 or so when it hits next month

PSP Firmware 6.10

The latest firmware update for the PlayStation Portable is now live. Version 6.10 of Sony’s handheld’s firmware announced earlier and it is now ready for download.
PSP firmware 6.10 brings some new features to the PSP. Firmware 6.10 for PSP enhances integration with Sony’s media management software Media Go and adds tethering support on the PSPgo which can be utilized with a Bluetooth-capable mobile device. Media Go is a free PC software application that allows you to easily organize and transfer music, photos and videos between your PC and PSP. It also allows you to access PlayStation Store and to purchase, backup and restore PSP games.
Also featured is SensMe support, a nifty tool that when directed, can automatically scan your music collection and categorize tracks under a particular mood. SensMe channels is a new music application for PSP that uses Sony’s proprietary 12 Tone Analysis technology to evaluate music tracks that have been imported from Media Go application on your PC to your PSP.

Microsoft Releases Two-Game Xbox 360 Bundle

Starting this week, Microsoft is selling an Xbox 360 Elite holiday hardware bundle, including two games and a 120GB hard drive for $300.   Microsoft’s Xbox 360 Elite Holiday bundle includes Xbox 360 Elite console with 120GB HDD to store games, downloadable content, TV shows, movies and other stuff. Along with that, two full retail copies of LEGO Batman: The Videogame and PURE are bundled. The included games are Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2, Lumines LIVE!, Bomberman LIVE! and Ms Pac-Man, and the whole thing costs $59.99.  The deals follow a $50 rebate on regular Elites, and increased competition from rival console makers Sony and Nintendo. Panasonic ToughBook 19 Laptop

Panasonic release the upgrade version for their Toughbook 19 which convertible tablet PC laptop. The updated versions of the F8, R8, T8, W8 as well as two new models in the S8 and N8 has been announced. The main change is the inclusion of 32-bit Windows 7, with some models getting the option to downgrade to Windows XP. Microsoft’s Windows 7 operating system is a good enough reason for the company to announce that it will update its line of laptops with six new models. According to available specifications, the R8 should be powered by the Core 2 Duo SU9600, running at 1.6GHz.

The hot news comes in the form of the brand new N8 and S8. Both are powered by Core 2 Duo P8700 chips. At the same time, the N8 and S8 systems, neither of which includes a built-in optical drive, will feature a more powerful Core 2 Duo P8700 processor, clocked at 2.53GHz and coupled with a 250GB HDD and the Intel GM45 Express Chipset with 765MB of VRAM, 2 or 4GB of RAM and featuring a 12.1-inch WXGA LCD also  SDHC connectivity. Despite the introduction, no release dates or prices for the new Let’s Note/ToughBook models were revealed.

Sony Unveils DPP-F700 Digital Photo Frame

Sony has unveiled DPP-F700 photo frame, which also includes a built-in photo printer. The Sony DPP-F700, is not only just serve to showcase your digital imagery but, its an integrated Dye-Sublimation printer, will allow you to gain color hardcopies to keep, savour or just pass on to others.
The 7-inch screen on the frame sports 800Ă—480 resolution, and there is 1GB of built-in memory. Users can display the current time in a choice of 21 templates. The integrated printer can create 4Ă—6-inch prints at up to 300Ă—300dpi resolution. The prints uses TruFast technology, meaning they are resistant to fingerprint marks, water and discoloration when exposed to light. Amazingly, Users also have the option of personalizing photos with more than 30 calendar and layout designs, as well as printing border or borderless ID photos for formal documents.
Other features include a 16:10 WVGA 7-inch screen, 1GB of memory space, support for most available memory cards and some editing functions like rotate, zoom and crop.The DPP-F700 is expected to arrive in stores in November, with an estimated price around the $290 mark
