ViewSonic has just announced officially the VX2451mhp-LED that has been “designed to compliment an Apple Mac environment”. The 24 inch LED display comes in white or black with a stylish and slim design, the unit being 3.6cm deep. The display is pitched as eco-friendly in both its manufacture and real-world use. Its manufacturing process is both mercury-free and toxin-free, ViewSonic said. The monitor boasts several intelligent display technologies, and can switch between 4:3 or 16:9 display modes as the source requires. ViewSonic’s display has a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, a 5ms response time (2ms GTG), a contrast ratio of 1,000:1 (20,000,000:1 DCR), a typical brightness of 300 cd/m2, and D-Sub. ViewSonic built a pair of 2.5W speakers into the display, and there’s also a 3.5mm audio-in port. Connectivity options include D-Sub, DVI-D, and HDMI.

AOC has today announced the launch of their new 16 inch USB LCD monitor. The AOC’s E1649FWU portable, USB-powered 16-inch monitor was first spotted at CEA LineShow event in New York in June this year. This e1649fwu stylish portable monitor has a piano black finish and set price of $139 to be released this October. The TFT Active Matrix LCD panel will feature a 16:9 aspect ratio, WLED backlighting, a dynamic contrast ratio of 50,000,000:1, a response time of 5ms, a maximum resolution of 1366 x 768 @ 60Hz, a pixel frequency of 85 MHz and a brightness level of 250 cd/m2. The e1649fwu also features a built-in foldable stand that supports portrait and landscape mounting. Sadly, The display doesn’t support HDCP so you can’t use it or Blu-ray playback.

Apple’s new Thunderbolt Cinema Displays have finally started shipping to customers. Apple unveiled the new $999 27-inch LED Thunderbolt Display in July alongside new Mac Minis and MacBook Airs. AppleInsider reported that some of its readers have been notified that their units have shipped. Interestingly, these displays aren’t shipping directly from China as most Apple products do. They are shipping from a holding spot in Australia. The new display is similar to Apple’s earlier Cinema LED Displays, but now comes in only one, new 27-inch. The new display is the first to support the Thunderbolt I/O technology. In addition to Thunderbolt, the display includes a built-in FaceTime HD video camera, a 2.1 speaker system, MagSafe charger, three USB 2.0 ports, one Firewire 800 port, and one Gigabit Ethernet port.
