Fujifilm has just announced to the world a new FinePix F-series compact digital camera, the F600EXR. It is an updated version of its F550 raw-capable compact superzoom. The F600EXR sports the same body design (with a new rubberized coating to improve the grip and reduce fingerprints), and like its predecessors uses a 16-megapixel EXR CMOS sensor, a 15x wide-angle zoom lens (24-360mm equivalent), and a 460,000-dot, 3-inch LCD. The most unique feature of this camera is that its built-in GPS functionality adds a Landmark Navigator feature to help photographers pinpoint locations. Fujifilm claims that the FinePix F600 EXR automatically locates places of interest from its on-board database of around one million locations. Additionally, it has an ISO sensitivity of up to 12,800, a Motion Panorama 360 mode, Motion Detection technology, Full HD (1080p) video capture capabilities, an SD card slot, 33MB of internal memory, a HDMI output, and a NP-50 lithium-ion battery.

Vision Research offers two new High-Speed Phantom v-series Cameras

Vision Research unveils two additions to the company’s Phantom® v-Series line of digital high-speed cameras with the introduction of the Phantom v1210 and v1610. Both cameras are based on Vision Research proprietary sensors offering not only high speeds, but larger 28-micron pixels that allow for superior sensitivity when shooting in low light, which is often a problem with high-speed imaging.
The v1610 can acquire and save up to 16 gigapixels-per-second of data. That means at its full megapixel resolution of 1280 x 800, you can achieve 16,000 frames-per-second (fps). At reduced resolutions, the v1610 offers frame rates of 650,000 fps.Connections on the back of the camera include 2 x HD-SDI ports which can be configured in a number of different ways, timecode, dual power inputs, a GPS input, frame synchronisation and trigger.

Olympus E-PL3 Gets Price And September Shipping

This is now official: the PEN E-PL3 will come out in September with a $699.99 price in two possible kit lenses. Olympus first announced the E-PL3 late in June, but at the time only the E-P3 had a price and a date. E-PL3 will be available in black, white, red, and silver when it ships in September. Priced at $700, the kit will include either a 14-42mm zoom or 17mm fixed lens, and will retail for a full c-note higher than its predecessor, the E-PL2. The PEN E-PL3 is a member of the Olympus PEN family of compact system cameras that also includes the new E-P3 and E-PM1. It comes with the new 12.3-megapixel Live MOS Image Sensor, a new image engine, enhanced low-light performance with AF illuminator and ISO up to 12,800, super fast auto-focus, full HD 1080i video capture and a re-designed touch user interface.

Leaked images show Sony Alpha A77 camera

Sony’s upcoming Alpha A77 DSLR has allegedly surfaced yet again. Pictures of the new Sony Alpha A77 have turned up over on the message boards of imaging site dyxum. The photos, though yet confirmed, appear to be genuine and the timing pairs nicely with previous rumors suggesting a late September or early October release. Earlier reported that the A77 will have a magnesium alloy body, a new 24 megapixel sensor, a new double Bionz processor, and a 3 million dot OLED viewfinder. It also has an improved autofocus with 11 cross AF points, and is capable of shooting more than 10 frames per second or full HD video.
