FujiFilm Finepix Z700 Brings Pet Detection to the Camera Game

Fujifilm Finepix Z700 was reportedly designed to feature a pet detection sensor. It recognizes when it’s being pointed at a dog or cat (using the “Auto Dog / Cat Detection” function) and instantly optimizes the focus and exposure.
This 12MP point-and-shoot is the first to include FujiFilm’s pet detection software. Actually. it allows you to program it to store the parameters for up to 10 dog and cat faces. The goodies, there is also an auto-release function that will automatically get the shot when the pet is looking directly at the camera.
The camera was tested at a camera show in Japan, it excelled at shooting stuffed animals but didn’t perform well when live animals thrown in front of the lens. And it also failed to track animals when they’re moving around. This will come soon for about $280 only.

Introducing Winait CD130BT Ultra-thin Digital Camera. This $25 camera measures 13.5 millimeters thick.

Samsung HMX-U20 and HMX-U15

Samsung has launched two new pocket camcorders at PMA 2010, called Samsung HMX-U15 and Samsung HMX-U20. It is an update of HMX-U10 camcorder. Both shoot 1080p video and feature time lapse recording, but bumping up to the U20 gets you 3x optical zoom.
The HMX-U20 features 1920×1080 full HD resolution video (30p / H.264), a built-in swing-out style USB connection, 3x optical zoom, 1/2.3 inch CMOS sensor, 10-megapixel digital still image capture, Hyper Digital Image Stabilization, time lapse recording, Samsung’s play edit sharing program, called intelli studio, and a one-touch “upload” button.
Samsung HMX-U15 camcorder has feature 14 megapixel still images but lack of zoom feature. Samsung HMX-U20 comes with 3x optical zoom and 10 megapixels still images
The Samsung HMX-U20 and HMX-U15 will be available in Black, Silver, Blue and Red in Spring 2010 for $249.99 and $229.99 respectively.

Sony announced the Cybershot DSC-TX5 waterproof digital camera. The 10.2-megapixel Sony TX5 is the world’s thinnest and smallest certified waterproof digital still camera with Optical SteadyShot image stabilisation and touch operation. Not only that, this 10.2 megapixel shooter is also Sony’s first digital still camera that is equipped with an “Exmor R” CMOS sensor which has been certified to be freeze proof down to 14 degrees Fahrenheit, shockproof up to about a 5-foot drop and dust proof.

Now in more colors: Panasonic’s GF1 digital camera

Panasonic in Japan announced the camera Lumix GF1 will be available in two more body colors, namely “blade” silver and “fairy” pink. This delicate color takes its inspiration from the beautiful petals of cherry blossom which sparkle during Japanese springtime.The two new Lumix snappers have the same 12-megapixel sensor as the original, together with the interchangeable lenses. Panasonic plans to produce 5,000 units per month of these cameras.

Panasonic Lumix GF1 has features 3-inch rear LCD with 460K dot resolution, Live View, and support 720p HD video recording in AVCHD Lite format. Pricing for the new colors will remain the same as the black GF1, at the equivalent of about $780. Panasonic hasn’t said yet whether the colors will be available outside this country as well.

Ikonoskop A-Cam3D Captures video in 3D 1080p

Ikonoskop have created the A-Cam3D that is capable of capturing 3D video at a 1080p resolution.  The a-cam3D weighs 2.8KG which includes the weight of the memory cartridge as well as the battery.

There’s not a lot of information about it, but the first specs look very good:

• Records two images at 1920 x 1080 as individual RAW files in DNG format.
• Color depth: 12 bits.
• Speed: 25 or 30 frames per second.

Sadly, no pricing is mentioned on the website which probably indicates that it isn’t cheap

Pentax Optio I-10

Pentax has added another point and shoot digital camera to its range, the Compact Digital Camera. The Optio I-10 compact camera that replicates the look of the company’s Auto 110 micro-SLRs.
There’s a 2.7-inch LCD, flash and speaker, together with 720p 30fps HD video recording mode and mechanical anti-shake technology.  Uniquely, Pentax have also developed a face-detection system that can recognize up to 32 faces, including those of dogs and cats.  The Pentax Optio I-10 also features  up to 6400 ISO sensitivity, and 26.7MB of built in memory, plus an SD card slot,  5x zoom covering the equivalent 28-140mm focal length range with a 12 MP sensor. The Pentax Optio E90 comes in at the budget end of things with a rubber-coated casing. The Optio I-10 will be priced at $299.95,

Sanyo’s Xacti DMX-SH11 Ultra slim Dual HD Camcorder

Sanyo have fished out a cool new ultra slim dual-camcorder called the Xacti DMX-SH11.It is like the other Xacti camcorder, It has Dual camera which means,you can take pictures and video. It will be available in Japanese market in late February for priced at €459.
New Sanyo Xacti DMX-SH11 is equipped with a 23x optical zoom (35 mm focal length), digital image stabilization system, 3.5MP CMOS sensor with a diagonal of 1/1.36 inch, 2.7-inch swivel TFT display, 16GB internal memory, a SD/SDHC/SDXC card slot, and miniHDMI port.
The Sanyo Xacti DMX-SH11 camera supports recording Full HD Video in MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 (1920×1080 pixels at 30fps or 60fps). In addition, Sanyo Xacti DMX-SH11 can capture still picture with a resolution of up to 10 megapixels.Measuring at 42.8×117.9×59.2 mm and weight is 204g, The Sanyo Xacti DMX-SH11 retails for 60,000 Yen or around $669.

Panasonic Lumix FP3

Panasonic will be releasing its latest ultra-slim Lumix FP3 compact digital camera sometime in 2010. The new FP3 cameras have a new ultra thin 4x optical zoom lens with stylish folded optics. The Lumix FP3 can take 16:9 HD quality photos that perfectly fit a wide-screen HDTV for full-screen viewing.

Specs wise DMC-FP3:

  • 14 megapixels
  • 3-inch touch-screen display
  • Mega O.I.S image stabilization
  • 4x optical zoom (internal lens)
