Slick is getting ready to launch a new eBook Reader called the ER-701. It showed up at the FCC website this week. The ER-701 will have a 7″ screen (same as the current Slick), and it also has a microSD card slot and an unknown amount of Flash storage. It’s tied to the Kobo ebookstore, and since it has Wifi there’s a good chance that you will be able to hack the browser and go elsewhere. The Slick ER-701 eReader isn’t going to offer the super-long battery life that you get from a model with an E Ink display, and it will be harder to read in direct sunlight. The device appears to have a 2100mAh, 7.77 Whr battery.
