Onda presents the new new Android tablet, the VX610W. The Onda VX610W is a new 7-inch Android tablet with 800 x 480 touchscreen display and it powered by a 1.5GHz ARM Cortex-A10 processor. This tablet has come with a direct 2D-to-3D converter. Also, it comes with a Mali 400 3D GPU with 8GB of internal memory, and a 512MB of DDR3 RAM and suppots 2160p Super HD video playback. ZiiLabs has announced another reference design, this time the Jaguar3Based around the company’s patented ZMS chips, the slates are measured as the thinnest yet. The magnesium case measures 8.1mm. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 pre-orders in the US have begun. There are two Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 models at BestBuy that differ on the storage capacity, the GT-P7310MAVXAR that boasts 32GB and is priced at $570, and the GT-P7310MAYXAR with less memory at 16GB and a price tag of $470. The Galaxy Tab 8.9 was originally unveiled at CTIA back in March, but it has yet to hit the market, despite its bigger brother, the Galaxy Tab 10.1, having been released earlier this summer.The Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 comes with Android Honeycomb and it features a 8.9 inch multi-touch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels, and a dual core 1GHz processor. Other specifications include a three megapixel camera on the back for photos and video and a two megapixel camera up front for video chat, there is also WiFi. It has a 6100mAH battery and native support for a wide range of audio and video codecs including MKV, Xvid, H.264, FLV, and WMV.

Liliputing reports that ViewSonic was showing the ViewPad 7x tablet at a Pepcom show in New York City on Thursday. The ViewSonic ViewPad 7x is scheduled to land Stateside in October. Unfortunately no specific date was mentioned, only a general time frame. As for the price, $379, which sounds like a decent enough spot to land at. The Viewsonic ViewPad 7x will come with Android Honeycomb, and it features a 7 inch multi-touch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels, processing is provided by a dual core NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor. Other specifications include a5 megapixel camera on the back for photos and video and a 2 megapixel camera up front for video chat, it also comes with HSPA+ connectivity, HDMI, WiFi and Bluetooth. The tablet weighs in at 0.84 pounds.

RIM co-CEO Jim Balsillie suggested upon a company’s second-quarter gain call which RIM would shortly be dropping prices upon a BlackBerry PlayBook tablets. The deal was identified by BGR and CrackBerry as a “back-to-school” sale for employees that would last until December 1. Normally $499.99, the 16GB BlackBerry PlayBook tablet is now just $249, the 32GB model drops to $349 from $599.99, and the high-end 64GB PlayBook drops to $399 from its normal $699.99 price tag. If you work for Rogers and don’t have a PlayBook, this is really too good of a deal to pass up. The company hasn’t said for sure that those prices will cross over to consumers, and it’s still expressing some confidence that the next version of the tablet’s QNX-based operating system will spur consumer interest

Archos G9 Android tablets coming September 20th for $299 and up

Archos announced Thursday that its G9 tablets will start hitting store shelves beginning September 20th. Available in two size options, the prices start at a very reasonable $299 (8-inch/8GB) and max out at $469.99 (10-inch/250GB). These tablets offer the best specs for your buck. A version of the tablet running a 1.5-GHz dual-core processor will be available online and in stores in October in the following flavors: 8-inch, 16GB for $329; 8-inch, 250GB for $369; 10.1-inch, 16GB for $399; and 10.1-inch, 250GB for $469.
The 8-inch 1024×768 resolution G9 tablet is named the Archos 80, and the base version will come with 8GB of flash storage with a 1GHz Cortex A9 dual-core processor. The larger models of the Archos 80 and the 10-inch Archos 101s with a 1280×800 screen resolution will have 1.5GHz OMAP 4 dual-core processors. The tablets will also be somewhat thick and heavy: the Archos 80 is 0.46 inches thick and 17 ounces, and the Archos 101 is 0.5 inches and just under 1.5 pounds.

AMD shows of Trinity APU

AMD showed off a notebook powered by its next-generation “Trinity” A-Series accelerated processing unit (APU). Trinity is a higher end successor to Llano. It will integrate 2 – 4 Piledriver cores and feature some sort of a Radeon GPU on-die. The company claims a roughly 50-percent boost in performance from Trinity over Llano. Trinity is known to have up to four Piledriver x86 cores (Piledriver is an improved Bulldozer core), a built-in DDR3 memory controller, and a DirectX 11-supporting Radeon GPU. Trinity will be built on the 32 nm process just like Llano but will utilize a different platform, one based around the FM2 socket.

NVIDIA starts dev program for Kal-El tablets with Windows 8

The first ever quad-core tablet was on show at the Microsoft’s BUILD 2011 developers conference in California this week. Kal-el tablet, an NVIDIA tablet, was shown running on Microsoft’s next operating system – probably with quad core chip installed. ThisIsMyNext actually managed to get their hands on the actual Kal-El tablet. The Kal-El chip itself will be a quad core chip that’s actually faster than Core 2 Duo processor according to NVIDIA. Making the Kal-El chip a good chip for Windows 8 tablets.The much anticipated NVIDIA Kal-El quad-core processor was first announced back in February, when it was slated to arrive sometime later this year.From the looks of it the Kal-El tablet is as smooth as all the other tablets running Windows 8. Kal-El will be the first quad-core chip for mobile devices and is said to support 1440p (2560×1440) video playback. It can drive a Retina Display-like 300DPI image on a 10-inch tablet.
