Sprint’s $100 ZTE Optik 7-inch Android tablet launches Feb. 5

Sprint has just informed the launch of the ZTE Optik, a new entry-level 7-inch tablet with Android 3.2 Honeycomb. Sprint’s ZTE Optik is going to be coming with some pretty impressive specifications considering the price and its specification. You’ll be able to get a ZTE Optik for $99.99 with a two-year service agreement. If you want to get one sans contract, you’ll have to shell out $349.99. The Optik rocks a 7 inch display with a 1280 x 800 resolution, a 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor, a full 1GB of RAM, 5 megapixel rear camera, 2 megapixel front-facing camera, and 16GB of storage, GPS, Bluetooth and a 4,000 mAh battery. Sadly, the Optik only supports CDMA or Wi-Fi connections, so it won’t be able to take advantage of Sprint’s current 4G WiMAX network or its upcoming 4G LTE network.

7-inch ZTE Optik 3G tablet available starting Feb. 5 from Sprint Stores and online. For Sprint customers that want an affordable 7-inch tablet with a data plan, the ZTE Optik is a pretty reasonable deal. The only downside is that this tablet will be obsolete in less than 18 months and you will still be stuck paying the data plan.

Shuttle Computer Announced XPC Barebone Model SZ68R5

Shuttle has just announced its new top-of-the-range XPC Barebone model SZ68R5. Despite its small size, the unit can house a fully-fledged desktop system and can accommodate a maximum of two 3.5-inch drives and one 5.35-inch drive. The 33 x 21.5 x 19 cm chassis can accommodate up to 32GB of DDR3 memory, Core i3/i5/i7 processors and up to four add-on cards, since it has slots for PCIe-x16-2.0, PCIe-x4-2.0, Mini-PCIe-x1-2.0 and mSATA.The new Shuttle XPC SZ68R5 is also equipped with Shuttle’s new R5 design, as well as packing “Smart Response Technology” (SSD caching), which enables an SSD drive to be used for increased speed (e.g. an mSATA-SSD in the Mini-PCIe slot).

The SZ68R5 has an HDMI port and DVI-I port – ideal for many second-generation Intel Core processors with integrated graphics. Panasonic intros two new compact laptop with the Let’s Note SX and NX Series

Panasonic is expanding its line of smart notebooks with the Let’s Note SX and NX series, which are scheduled to be released soon. The Let’s Note SX1 and SX2 offer Intel Core i5 processors in a compact, ruggedized magnesium form factor with batteries that provide up to 16 hours of run-time. Depending of your specification of choice Panasonic will be able to offer you either a traditional HDD or fast SSD capable to boot your system in just 9 seconds thanks to Panasonic Quick Book Manager.

The Toughbook SX1 features a standard voltage Core i5-2540M or Core i5-2450M CPU, 4GB RAM, DVD drive and a high 1600×900 resolution display. Moreover, it has 2x USB 3.0 ports, 1x USB 2.0 port, multi-card reader, RJ-45 and an HD webcam capable of 720p recording. The SX1 would provide up to 17 hours of continuous use depending on activity. Dell Alienware 2012 Notebook Line Up Leaked

The details of Alienware’s 2012 notebook line-up has come out publically well before an official announcement. The new notebooks appear to be refreshments to Alienware’s existing M14x, M17x and M18x models; these said to be dubbed the M14x R2 (14-inch), M17x R4 (17.3-inch) and M18x R2 (18.4-inch). While the info available about the specs of this laptop is rather limited at this point in time. As for the R2 units, the first one M14X R2 will feature a GPU coming as part of the motherboard, and options including 1GB and 2GB right out of the box. The 17-inch M17x-R4 is said to provide a choice between AMD’s Radeon 7970M GPU and NVIDIA’s GeForce GTX 660M or 675M graphics components.

The M14X R2 and M17x R4 will come in two colors – red and black. The 18-inch M18x R2 was also mentioned with red or black exterior colors, but the rest of the details are still unknown.

The Mini 1104 promises durability and performance for those who may be frustrated by text-entry on a tablet.The new netbook is designed for education and business applications, packing in a near full-sized keyboard, up to nine-hours of battery life and a multi-touch trackpad. Acer Iconia Tab A700 and A510 to be Released in April 2012

At a press release in Hamburg, Acer apparently said that both the Acer Iconia Tab A510 and Acer Iconia Tab A700 tablets should be launched in April.Pricing for the A510 and A700 (64GB model) could be around €500 and €749, respectively. The US equivalents will likely carry the same numerical values, but in dollars. The two Iconia Tabs share 10-inch screens and Tegra 3 processors that give them much better performance. Where they differ the most is in the resolution department. While the A510 features a respectable 1280×800 display, the A700 boasts a next generation 1920×1200 tablet display.
The A510 features 1.3 GHz NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM, a 10.1-inch display, and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The equipment is completed by a door mini-HDMI, mini-USB and a slot for microSD cards.

Notion Ink has just informed its plans for a second-generation Adam tablet. NotionInk and TI are collaborating and the new Adam II will have a TI OMAP44XX processor along with other TI components. The tablet will be designed specifically for “best power performance and multi-tasking experience” and will ship with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Moreover the new Adam II will have Texas Instruments components like Wi-Link 7.0 and Phoenix Audio Power Amplifiers. The original Adam had been popular because it was one of the first devices to ship with an NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual core processor and it offered an optional Pixel Qi low-power, sunlight readable display

Additionally, about a new software architecture the Adam II will release with, the Modular Based Software Architecture, utilizing drag and drop features for easy application modification and an Open Source module to further expand deployment.
