LaCie has just announced the first storage device supporting the Thunderbolt I/O technology, the LaCie Little Big Disk. The product features LaCie’s classic d2 casing, it’s made from aluminium and has a heat sink like design to provide efficient heat dissipation. Toshiba Germany is showing a listing for this new 10 inch mini-laptop with an AMD C-50 Ontario chip. Toshiba has announced they will be outfitting one of their entry-level Satellite laptops. The 15.6-inch laptop uses an AMD E240 CPU, part of the new AMD Fusion line of processors, helping keep the cost down. Archos has started shipping a second version of its 7-inch home tablet, the Archos 7 Home tablet. The Archos 7 Home Tablet has been revised and is now available in v2, with some good improvements to the original. The processor gets upgraded from a 600MHz chip (RK2808) to a 800MHz chip (RK2818), still Rockchip based and is capable of running at 1GHz, but is clocked down for better battery life, less heat. The Archos 7 Home Tablet v2 also received an accelerometer, and includes a 7-inch (800 x 480) touchscreen, 8GB of built-in storage, a microSDHC card slot, 802.11 b/g WiFi, an USB port and a leg stand.
Synology Inc. today unveiled DiskStation DS1511+ , a high-performance NAS server that offers greater scalability, significant storage capacity and full-featured business NAS solutions for SMB users. The DiskStation DS1511+ chassis comes with five hot-swappable drive bays that can be packed with five 3TB hard disk drives for a total 15TB capacity. Should that prove insufficient, however, businesses can purchase up to two more DX510 enclosures in order to add another 10 hard disk drives (5x HDD per DX510) for an additional 30TB of storage.
