Samsung’s 50-inch 3D plasma screen television set will be sold at Best Buy for under $1,000. Samsung PN50C490B3D 50-inch 720p 3D plasma 3D TV has been on sale for $989 at Best Buy. The model’s asking price does not include 3D glasses. You will have to buy them separately and Samsung gouges to the tune of $150 to $200 per set for the active glasses you need.

The Samsung PN50C490B3D 50-inch produces a full 600Hz refresh rate that can handle the enhanced display and is smoother for 2D content as well. The TV produces a 2,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio and carries three HDMI inputs, two component inputs and one each of VGA and optical audio.
The set measures 31″ tall on the stand, 11-3/4″ wide on the stand, and 2-3/4″ deep on the stand.

No Internet access is built-in, but it carries USB to add an adapter or to play locally stored media.
