Toshiba has announced its first 3D-enabled Blu-ray player, with the BDX3100KB announced alongside the BDX1100KB. They will allow anyone with a 3D TV to enjoy 3D Blu-ray movies as well at the Fullest of 1080p/24fps HD resolution. Both the players will ship in sometime in October.
The BDX3100KB provides Full HD 1920x1080p 3D output with Blu-ray movies played back at 24 frames per second. It can offer up to 7.1 channels – provided you’ve got that many speakers, of course. Various media formats such as MKV, DivX, HD-JPEG, AVCHD, and MP3 are all supported, along with USB storage support.
The BDX1100KB is geared towards consumers on a tight budget. It does not have 3D capability but is still capable of offering 1080p video output, HD upscaling, Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD Master Audio, and BD-Live content.
Unfortunately, there are no word on the price tag or when we can expect both the players in North America.
