Field Workers would have a hard time using a regular rugged notebook, since there are no desk for them to use. The new tablet PC is MIL-STD-810G and IP67 certified for ruggedness, making it able to withstand harsh environments. The X10gx has a magnesium alloy chassis and is fully compliant with MIL-STD-810G standards for shock, vibration, and temperature extremes. In addition, it’s rated IP67 for ingress protection, making it impervious to moisture, dust, sand, pollen, mold and more.
The DRS Armor X10gx Rugged Tablet equipped with an Intel Core 2 Duo SU9300 CPU (1.2 GHz ), 10.4-inch LCD display with 1024 x 768 pixels resolution with digitizer pen and resistive touch input capability, up to 2GB of RAM, come with a choice of 64/80/160GB SSD as well as built-in Bluetooth 2.0 and 802.11 b/g/n connectivity.
The Armor x10gx rugged tablet pc machine will start shipping on September 15.
