Samsung jumps aboard the Wi-Fi enabled digital camera bandwagon with yet another model, this time round the ST80 will take center stage. The ST80, a 14.2 mega-pixel point and-shoot camera that joins Samsung’s growing line of Wi-Fi enabled digital cameras. The camera can also offload photos via email or via direct upload to social media-sharing sites like Facebook and YouTube. The Samsung ST80 will be available in September with the retail price of $249.99.
The ST80 is based around a 14.2 megapixel imager and a 3x optical zoom lens. For framing and reviewing mages, and as an input device, the Samsung ST80 includes a 3.0-inch LCD display with touch panel.
In conjunction with the Wi-Fi capabilities, the ST80 will offer DNLA functionality through Samsung’s Allshare technology. This allows you to transmit photos and videos to other DNLA-compliant devices, such as HDTVs.The camera records 720/30p MPEG-4 video.
A new Smart Crop feature will allow users to straighten in-camera photos taken at an angle or a slant. Standard to Samsung’s lineup of point-and-shoots is the Smart Auto mode that can be used in the ST80′s video or still image recording modes.
