The Swiss low noise cooling solution provider ARCTIC COOLING today announced the launch of two VGA coolers – the Accelero XTREME 5970 and Accelero XTREME 5870. These two coolers are aimed at the ATI Radeon HD 5870 and Radeon HD 5970 graphics cards and are as large as they are effective.

The precise fan blade design improves the laminar airflow and helps reducing the noise level to a minimum – only 0.5 sone at full speed (2,000 rpm). The patented fan holder and PWM function helps the Accelero XTREME 5970 / 5870 to reduce the noise further, creating a much quieter gaming environment.
The Accelero XTREME 5870 is versed with 3 92mm fans which turn during 900 to 2,000 RPM, 5 copper heatpipes, 84 aluminum fins as well as comes with pre-applied MX-2 thermal paste. The HD 5870 model measures 290 (L) x 104 (W) x 56 (H) mm
The Accelero XTREME 5970 is designed with an 8-heatpipe and 119-fin architecture to achieve 300 watts cooling for the dual-GPU Radeon HD5970. A layer of the ARCTIC MX-2 thermal compound is also pre-applied on the base of Accelero XTREME 5970. The HD 5970 measures 290 (L) x 104 (W) x 58 (H) mm




The former (5870) will boat in Apr for $67.95, whilst a latter (5970) will arrive in May for $76.95. Both coolers come with a 6-year limited warranty.
