LG 15-inch EL9500 OLED TV Arrives In U.S. Later This Year

LG wants to bring his 15-inch OLED TV in the U.S. by mid-year. The EL9500, is the first OLED TV production to achieve a true HD resolution, with a peak of 720p (1366Ă—768). The EL9500 has been the world’s largest commercially available OLED display–at least in South Korea as of the end of 2009. Oled-display.net blog informed that LG staff at the ISE-2010 conference revealed that the EL9500 will be shipping stateside by the summer of 2010.
LG will come with 15-inch model, LG EL9500. It has a resolution of 1366Ă—768 pixels, 440 cd/m2 brightness, a 0.01 ms response time, and 100000:1 contrast ratio.The OLED technology has several advantages compared with the usual liquid crystal panels (LCD). They do not need a backlight and has significantly lower power consumption.
American pricing for the set hasn’t been revealed but is likely to run under the price of the Sony XEL-1. The price for the LG model is said to sit between $2500 and $3000.
