ASUS makes T101MT netbook tablet official

It seems the 10-inch Asus Eee PC T101MT convertible netbook is edging to closer to a retail release. The ASUS T101MT convertible netbook that was spotted at the FCC on Christmas Eve is now official, with full specs available on the company’s website.
According to Asus, the notebook will be available with Windows 7 Starter, Home Basic, or Home Premium. It has a 10.1 inch, 1024 x 600 pixel touchscreen display with a swivel that allows you to fold it down over the keyboard for use in slate mode. Inside is an Intel Atom N450 processor—better known as one of the new Pine Trail chips—and either 1GB or 2GB of DDRR2 RAM. Storage is listed as 160GB or 320GB (both with 500GB of ASUS WebStorage), depending on if you splurge for Windows 7 Starter or Windows 7 Home Premium
The T101MT comes standard with 3 USB ports, 1VGA port, mic and headphone jacks, and an SD card slot and 802.11b/g/n WiFi and Bluetooth 2.1. It has a 35Whr battery that Asus says should last for up to 6.5 hours. No release date or pricing info is available yet, but it should be competitive with Apple’s tablet device given the T91’s $500 price.
