The Kanex HDMI to Mini DisplayPort Converter enables you to connect any HDMI source device into a 27-inch iMac, LED Cinema Display or any other Apple device which sports an mDP input (which includes sources like a PS3, Xbox 360 or Blu-ray player). It supports HDMI 1.3 and DisplayPort/Mini DisplayPort 1.1a.
This converter offers a maximum resolution of 1,920 x 1,200 for standard DVI, or a native 720p for gaming consoles. Moreover, the device also supports HDMI 1.3 and DisplayPort/Mini DisplayPort 1.1a. Unfortunately, the device will cost $150, and you still need separate Mini DisplayPort and HDMI cables (it’s just a block). Although, it ain’t the first HDMI-to-Mini DisplayPort adapter, there will be more selection for solution of piping Blu-ray, Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3. The Kanex adapter is expected to ship sometime in April.
