The  BeBook Neo E-Reader review on Pocket-Lint
3/5
“As an ebook reader, the Neo is nice enough. It is a good size and the screen gives you the benefits of E-Ink without the reflections you’ll find elsewhere. Page refreshing is fast and there are plenty of options, like being able to rotate the page and change the text size. However, given the poor experience we had taking the Neo online, we’re not convinced. Unfortunately you will be paying over the odds for this device. At ÂŁ279, it is expensive for an experience that leaves a lot to be desired. A little refinement and the BeBook Neo could be a compelling option: make the Wi-Fi more user-friendly and tailor the content to suit the device and you’d be on to a winner. As it is, the BeBook Neo feels incomplete and we aren’t sold on the rough metal back. Ambitious, but the Neo fails to fulfil its lofty aims, and at this price, we’d expect a more complete experience”.

“So, over the years, I’ve used ereaders from the likes of Sony, Cooler, iRex, Bookeen, Amazon and BeBook. I have to say that the BeBook neo is my current favourite, for a number of reasons. These do not include the music playing capability, though anyone wanting this feature will like the 3.5mm headset slot in the BeBook neo. Nor do they include the pen support which allows you to make notes onto the screen and annotate etexts”
The  BeBook Neo E-Reader review on PCAdvisor.co.UK
” Using the web on this kind of screen is generally a horrible experience, and we found it easier to buy books on a laptop and transfer with the USB lead than shop on the BeBook Neo device itself. In fact, we quickly forgot the BeBook Neo had Wi-Fi and a touchscreen and used USB to transfer electronic books and the on-device buttons to navigate. Which might lead you to wonder why you’d bought a touchscreen WiFi enabled device in the first place.

“Although my credit card might not agree, I’m loving the ability to hear about a book which interests me and be curled up reading it within the space of a few minutes. This is the true joy of owning a digital reader. ”
The Bebook Neo E-Reader reviev on Zath.co.UK
“Although it’s clear that the BeBook was made to achieve something capable of accepting many open formats, and including additional functionality, that functionality comes at the cost of simple navigation. Using a stylus a lot is simply too detrimental for the BeBook to compete against a simple reading device like the Kindle, and then there’s the matter of the ÂŁ240 price point. Would you pay twice as much for a BeBook as you would a Kindle? Don’t hold your breath. All in all, the BeBook needs to do quite a bit of catching up, and price cutting, to compete in the e-reader market. Hopefully, their second generation model will continue to improve as the Kindle generations did so that it won’t be as awkward to use
