Synology announced two new DiskStation NAS solutions for home and business users, the Synology DiskStation DS1010+ and DS110j. Both support DLNA media streaming, gigabit ethernet connectivity and have a clutch of USB 2.0 ports for hooking up external drives or peripherals.

The 6.2 x 9.8 x 9.2-inch (157 x 248 x 233mm) system is said to consume only 68 watts of power under normal conditions, and supports wake-on-LAN and disk hibernation for further energy savings.The DiskStation DS1010+ is available in both diskless and pre-installed configurations; the diskless model is currently shipping in the US and Canada. The Synology DiskStation DS110j NAS is specified by one HDD bay,a single ethernet port, three USB 2.0 ports and powered by an 800MHz processor with 128MB RAM. Â The DS110j comes with an AJAX-based web interface DiskStation Manager (DSM). Features enabled by the software include DLNA Complaint Multi-media server, web hosting, remote access, automatic backup, surveillance station, photo sharing, and download station. The DS110j supports up to a 2TB hard disk and is backed by a two-year warranty. The gadget without any storage is $150 USD.
