Sony unveils a new eco-friendly batch of mini notebooks with the launch of the VAIO W Series. A special Eco Edition is designed to be even more environmentally friendly — from the factory right to your home. Overall, it helps cut its carbon footprint with a 10% reduction in CO2 emissions.Rather than a cardboard box, the VAIO W-Eco comes in a carrying case made from recycled PET bottles
At first glance, the VAIO W Series Eco is sleekly designed netbook. It measures 7.07 by 10.54 by 1.08/2 inches (HWD) and weighs 2.93 pounds with a standard battery. The VAIO W Series Eco Edition features an Intel Atom processor, 1GB of RAM, 250GB HDD and comes loaded with a genuine Windows 7 Starter Edition OS. It sports a 10.1” LED backlit LCD display and assures customers of no environmentally-harmful mercury.
It also comes with parental controls built-in so you can create a safe on-line experience for kids. Featuring Kidzui and Online Family Norton software, kids have the freedom to learn, play, search and discover sites on the Internet while it gives parents the tools to manage the sites they visit. The new VAIO W Series mini notebook computer by Sony is available from February 2010
