Eye-Fi has launched its second generation of wireless SD cards. The Eye-Fi is an SD card that adds Wi-Fi uploads to any camera. Their latest flagship, the Pro X2, is pretty similar to old Eye-Fis, but it’s faster and even a bit smarter, too.
The big features of the new 8GB Class 6 SD card are 802.11n support and the Endless Memory mode, which automatically clears photos and videos as they’re uploaded to your machine over WiFi, and there are also some new sharing options in the mix, as well as geotagging support. The Eye-Fi Pro X2 uses the latest version of the company’s proprietary Arcturus chipset, is one of the first such devices to fit 802.11n support into such a form-factor.
It is available for pre-order on www.eye.fi and at select online retailers such as Amazon.com for an MSRP of $149.99.
