LG Electronics has launched in its home country (South Korea) a new line of external hard drives. LG ‘XG1 Chic’ is designed with curved edges and a LED lamp on the front panel. This attractive external HDD by LG is available in black and white versions and connects to a computer via one SATA II (eSATA) interface, which enables some pretty high data transfer rates, as well as lower power consumption levels. Fed into the power outlet and connected to the computer using USB 2.0 for a theoretical maximum throughput of 480 Mbit / s or 60 Mb / s. The XG1 Chic is made in 3.5-inch form factor and equipped with a powerful and silent cooling system. Available in 1, 1.5 or 2TB as well as in black or white, the XG1 Chic target the average consumer in Korea who also appreciate the external design of a certain computer accessory, besides its versatility and/or functionality.
