LG Display Co. revealed a 2.6mm ultra-thin LCD Panel in the size of 42-inches marking with it the new world’s thinnest LCD display. The breakthrough panel was developed through the application of an ultra-slim, edge-lit light emitting diode (LED) backlight system and propriety optical film technology developed by LG Display
The LCD is around the 2.6mm thin panel that will weigh less than 4kg. It gives a better fit for wall-mounted TVs, and offers full HD resolution delivering crisp and sharp images. Consequently, you will need a separate box with the tuner and other TV electronics that is not fitting into the mm thin casing. LG Display said the new LCD panel will be showcased at the 2010 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
