Sharkoon links USB device to LAN

Germany’s own Sharkoon Technologies has just revealed the USB LANPort 100 and 400, a couple of adapters to help you connect USB-supporting devices to a local area network. The main unit connects to a wired network over a common RJ-45 port (probably 10/100 Mbps), and takes in a 5V DC power input (to power the ports) and gives out USB ports.
The LanPort 100 comes with just one USB port, while LanPort 400 comes with four. The Sharkoon USB LANPort supports both automatic and manual IP address contacts and by default enables the automatic IP addresses via DHCP. The software menu allows users to connect the individual device to one’s own computer and use it as if it were directly connected to your PC.
Compliant with Windows XP, Vista, as well as Windows 7, both 32 and 64-bit, the LANPorts are capable of delivering the easiest way of making the necessary settings using the included software. They bundled with a tools CD, a patch cable and a power adapter, and should become available very soon at 23 Euro and 37 Euro, respectively.
