BenQ nReader K60 e-Book Reader

BenQ today announced its nReader series ebook reader in its domestic market Taiwan. The ebook reader sporting a SiPix 6-inch touch-enabled electrophoretic display (EPD), will be launched in January 2010 first in Taiwan and then in Japan and China. Pretty much similar to the Amazon Kindle in terms of technical specifications, although it misses out on the Kindle’s keyboard while being a wee bit smaller and lighter.

Measuring 175mm x 122mm x 11mm and weights at just 220 grams, the gadget  produce a native resolution of 800 x 600 pixels with 167 dots-per-inch and 16 grey scales. The nReader K60 provides a 2GB of storage space, which is enough to hold around 4000 books and a microSD card slot (up to 16GB) for more storage space. Additional features include WiFi, a mini USB port, a USB 2.0 port and a 3.5mm audio jack. Formats supported include ePub, PDF, TXT, HTML, JPEG, BMP, GIF, PNG, and MP3. It will be released first in Taiwan and China with a price of about 8900 Taiwan Dollars (US$277).

  1. J. Dempsey says:

As a person who has used both the Kindle and the Sony Reader I can say that the Kindle is a better product even if it doesn’t have a background reading light built into it, and one can compensate for the battery life by simply turning off the wireless when they’re not using it. The only thing that would be nice to add is a computer library software so that people could manage their library more easily and read their books on their computers if they wished, this is especially necessary for reference style books.

  2. I’m considering about getting the Amazon Kindle 2. I’ve study tons of reviews and am wondering what you’ve to say about it. The Kindle sounds like an amazing notion. Saving trees, saving income, not losing your spot, print size transform, as well as the notes feature. So what do you think? Need to I get it?
