Cranberry DiamonDiscs Offer 1000-year DVD Shelf Life

Now comes “Diamond’ disc which claim to be able to store your photos and files for one thousand years!This is the Cranberry DiamonDisc that is rated for 1,000-year data retention, using high-tech, diamond-hard material that promises to preserve irreplaceable digital files for ages. Invented by professors at BYU and commercialized by Springville, Utah startup Millenniata, the new disc emerges be a permanent and durable storage solution for digital files including photos, videos and electronic documents.It’s even built to withstand “temperatures extending up to 176 degrees Fahrenheit as well as UV rays that would destroy conventional DVD discs.”

Unlike the usual recordable DVDs and CDs we all know, the Cranberry DiamonDisc features no adhesive layers, dye layer or reflective layer that can deteriorate, thus it skips the part with your precious data “rotting” while stored. And it’s quite cheap: $30 each.
