Hikari iFrame Android Tablet PC

NTT, Japan’s biggest telecommunications company has unveiled the Hikari iFrame yesterday. The Hikari iFrame is being positioned as one part digital photo frame and one part web tablet, with WiFi for internet access along with various widgets for weather, calendar, news and even recipes.
You get a 7″ touchscreen display that will be accompanied by a speaker, an alarm clock function, a USB port and an SD memory card slot. Built-in Wi-Fi connectivity allows you to surf the Internet in a jiffy.

The Hikari iFrame will be released in Japan only (initially, at least) in the first half of fiscal 2010, which under the Japanese system means sometime between April and September next year. It will cost between $220 and $330. NTT claim using Android rather than another OS helped bring prices down by around 20-30 percent per unit.
