Toshiba announced new additions to its 1.8-inch Serial ATA HDD product line, covering the full range of mobile computing applications. Thosiba hard drives MKxx33GSG,  includes models 160GB, 250GB, and 320GB. Improvement of the MK3233GSG family’s perpendicular magnetic recording head and the disk’s magnetic layer secure an areal density of 801 Mbit/mm² (516Gbpsi), the industry’s highest for 1.8-inch HDDs.

The 1.8 inch hard drive is small enough to fit in an iPod or a super-thin netbook. New Toshiba 1.8-inch HDDs are connected to SATA interface, it is equipped with two plates (except the 160GB model, equipped with a plate) and supports high-speed spindle 5,400rpm
